Electrical Issue Stands in the way of a Podium for Sean and the AF Corse Team in Valencia.

It was at first a difficult start to the weekend for the 4th and penultimate round of the GTWCE Sprint series in Valencia, with Sean struggling to find a good balance and confidence with the car in practice.

However, he was in good form in Q1 until getting blocked by a rival, compromising the lap that would have put him P2 or P3. Nevertheless, Sean started the race in P5 and went for the undercut in the pitstop, however when Nicola jumped in, the car wouldn’t start. This meant that a full power cycle was needed, losing them 25 seconds in the driver change, without which, they would have come out in P3.

In Q2, unfortunately the car wouldn’t start again after Nicola had a spin, meaning they had to start from the very back of the grid. He had a good start, making up lots of positions and when Sean got in after the driver change, he began hunting down their rivals and was soon fighting for P4. However, the car was suffering from overheating of the front tyres and as soon as Sean got close to the other cars, it was impossible to overtake as the front tyres became too hot and subsequently lost grip. They had to settle for P5 in the end with solid points in the bag once again.
