Singaporean Sean Hudspeth scores PRO class podium despite suspension issues
Sean Hudspeth scored a PRO class podium in the first race over the weekend in Misano World circuit in arguably one of the most competitive seasons of the Italian GT Championship, with a field of 35 cars.
Despite a mechanical issue with the front right suspension of the car, Sean managed to hold off a factory Audi car for P2 overall at the end of the race.
Sean started P10 for the second race due to getting stuck behind slower cars in qualifying. Nevertheless, he charged to 5th place by half race distance, setting the fastest lap of the first half of the race in the process. His teammate Antonio Fuoco then took over, also showing great pace, setting the fastest lap of the second half of the race. The duo looked set to fight for another podium or even a win, however the rain came and they were caught out by an untimely “full course yellow” right after they had pitted for rain tyres, putting them nearly a lap down on the leaders.
“We had really good pace and potential to win this weekend but were a little unlucky with the circumstances. Thank you to my teammate and the whole AF Corse team for the hard work and awesome car!” – Sean
