A Step in the Right Direction for Singaporean Sean Hudspeth and the AF Corse Ferrari Team in Hockenheim.

The 3rd round of the GTWCE Sprint Series took place at the historic Hockenheim circuit in Germany and it seemed like things were off to a good start for Sean and the team. Driving the first half of the official test sessions on Thursday, Sean put the car P2 overall on his new tyre run which was promising considering it was only the second time he’d driven the new car.

On Saturday, his teammate Nicola unfortunately has lap times deleted in Q1 meaning they would start P8 but eventually managing to fight up to P5 despite an issue with the belts during the driver change. In Q2, Sean and the team decided to use a harder brake pad compound which worked in testing, however it resulted in significant braking issues as the car suddenly had a lot of rear locking. As a result, there was no “blip” or engine braking at all which made the car very difficult to control, resulting in only P7 at the end of qualifying. In the race, Sean and his teammate Nicola managed to catch up 2 positions for another solid top 5 finish.
